At Melbourne Hearing Care Clinic, we have a patient centered approach to healthcare and provide a full diagnostic hearing service to the general public. Appointments include a professional evaluation of your hearing and discussion of management options.

Adult diagnostic testing options available at our clinic include:

  • Pure tone audiometry
  • Speech recognition testing in both quiet and background noise
  • Impedance audiometry
  • Acoustic reflex testing
  • Otoacoustic emissions
  • Auditory brainstem response testing
  • Cortical evoked response audiometry
  • Assessment of balance function (please see services offered under Vestibular Clinic)

A standard appointment will typically involve a chat with an audiologist and student followed by a hearing test where you will wear some headphones and respond to sounds by pressing a button. We might also ask you to repeat some words you hear through the headphones. We will look in your ears and use a machine to check your middle ear health. All results will be discussed with you at the conclusion of the appointment, including options for management and onward referrals where required.

We can also provide workforce hearing assessments such as those for the police force or pilots.

These services may incur additional fees.
