New patient fee

A new patient registration fee of $85 dollars is to be paid upon first attending Melbourne Hearing Care Clinic. Please note that this fee is waived for individuals on commonwealth issued health care cards and pensioner concession card holders (seniors cards excluded).

*Booking Deposit

From January 2024 a booking deposit of 25% of the consultation fee is payable to secure some clinic appointments (noted with *) Deposits are not refundable if appointment is cancelled with less than 48 hours notice.

**Medicare

Medicare rebates are available for some audiology tests (noted with **) Our services do incur out-of-pocket payments, however we can claim the Medicare rebate that applies for your service for your service at the clinic. Please ensure that you provide your Medicare card details prior to your first appointment or bring your Medicare card with you to your appointment.

Hearing Services Program

Melbourne Hearing Care Clinic is a registered government Hearing Services Program (HSP) provider. Individuals who hold a pensioner concession card or DVA white or gold card may be eligible for subsidised hearing services and devices under the program. Please let us know upon booking your appointment if you have a current HSP voucher or believe you are eligible for the HSP program.

Funding Agencies

At Melbourne Hearing Care Clinic we can directly invoice other funding bodies such as TAC, Workcover or NDIS on your behalf. Please let us know who you are covered by prior to your first appointment with us and we will confirm whether we are an approved provider.

Private Health Insurance Claims

We are currently unable to process Private Health Insurance rebates for hearing devices at our clinic. We can however provide you with the required invoice receipts for claiming at a later date. It is your responsibility to make sure you are aware of any Private Health Insurance benefits you may be entitled to prior to the purchase of any devices.

Payment Plans

At Melbourne Hearing Care Clinic , we work in partnership with Humm to offer 24-month interest free payment plans to help make your listening devices more affordable. Humm payment plans enable payment over time in fortnightly instalments.

Our friendly administration team are happy to guide you through the process. During your appointment, we provide a free quote, and in most cases, we can give you instant approval for financing. If you are considering payment plan as an option, To get started, please bring a valid identification card, such as your driver’s license, Aged Pension card, or Veteran’s Pension Card, to your initial appointment.

If you are currently unemployed or receive an Aged or Veterans Pension, we may require additional documentation, such as copies of your recent utility bill and two months of superannuation or bank statements.

Please note

A 5% discount on eligible devices applies to University of Melbourne Staff and Alumni and tertiary students from any University. In order to be eligible for the 5% discount you will be required to show proof of your eligibility at each visit. Other service discounts may be available – please ask our reception team for details.
