Emalka completed a Bachelor of Science, Master of Clinical Audiology, and Doctor of Philosophy from The University of Melbourne. During her tertiary studies she saw the value of clinical research on patient outcomes, inspiring her to complete a PhD investigating efficiency and efficacy of service delivery for cochlear implant patients. Her research interests have since expanded into investigating audiological service delivery in public health settings. With over a decade of clinical experience in Audiology within both public and private settings, the most rewarding aspect of her current role as the Operations Manager of Melbourne Hearing Care Clinic and Melbourne Speech Pathology Clinic is seeing the positive impact of operational changes on patient care. Outside of work, Emalka loves being a mum, completing DIY projects, travelling the world, and playing badminton.
